Decorating the Christmas Tree

Filed under: family — mullerj at 9:40 pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2006

We got our Christmas tree on Friday, brought it into the house on Saturday and decorated it on Sunday.  We had a little tree decorating party with Boucherons and Skellys.

I subscribe to a number of blogs via Bloglines and one of the more interesting blogs focused on regional news is the Adirondack Almanack, which advertises itself as “Blogging From Behind The Blue Line Of The Adirondacks”. Adirondack Almanack gave a nice write up to WinterCampers.com in a recent posting - check it out at

Fisher Tracks?

I took a hike with the dog yesterday and the snow conditions were perfect for spotting animal tracks. I saw lots of fresh deer, rabbit, and squirrel tracks and then I ran across these tracks. I took some pictures and brought them home, cropped them on the computer and enhanced the color. The closest match I could find was a fisher. The habitat was consistent with fisher territory - wooded, with known squirrel and porcupine populations.

What’s wrong with this picture?

I am 6′4″ and I am not standing in a hole.  Our house has 8′ ceilings.  Do you see any issues with this tree - even if we lop a couple of feet off the bottom?

If you are going to spew flour all over the place it is sometimes best to bake shirtless. Of course, the sweat pants still get covered in flour.
