This is our 3rd recent Splash, Bump & Beach team. We were the 15th team in a 30 team field. We had a 2005 and 2007 version who’s stories are told in a 2005 pdf/2005 pictures here and 2007 posting here. Honestly, I was going to let the 2009 opportunity go by but back in January [...] Tuesday night K made a great and innovative chicken pot pie with lots of vegies. We sat on the deck had dinner and remembered it was the day to vote for a new school board member and the HP School Initiatives: budget, new buses, and expanding the school board from 5 to 7 members. After [...] Barb and Joe left our house early Friday morning after attending Billie Jo’s graduation and staying overnight. Kathryn spent the morning in Kindergarten. I hoed the garden and met with the County Highway workers who came to inspect our proposed U shaped driveway (not looking good). I mowed all the lawn including paths to the [...] Thursday night we celebrated Billie Jo’s graduation from Utica School of Commerce at Heart’s Hill Inn. We couldn’t be prouder. It took a long sustained effort working at school, working a job, and raising Dakota simultaneously. Billie Jo graduated as the President of the Student Association, with High Honors (> 3.75 gpa) and listed as [...] Eric had a soccer game on Saturday morning that was notable for three reasons. 1. A helicopter landed at the adjoining Stittville Firemen’s Practice Facility. This mesmerized the kids, or at least our team who had their backs to helicopter. They had to turn around, look and point with the expected results….. the opponent scored a [...] I have had the itch to go camping for the past few weeks. I missed going on a spring (April) camping trip. We planned on canoeing on Little Black Creek for a daytrip, but that got pre-empted as well. Finally, Skip and I planned a quick overnight shake down canoe camping trip for Friday night. [...] Eric’s Kindergarten Class took “Dress Casual” to a whole new level on Friday and declared Pajama Day. All the kids and teachers wore pajamas to school. Below Eric poses with his Nintendo DS and his Spiderman pajamas. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a direct path to school as 1st he had a dentist appointment where Kathryn snapped this [...] Kathryn left on Friday with the pickup truck, headed to Rochester to help clean out her Dad’s house. Eric and I went to Okay Dokey’s for dinner where he had Mac & Cheese, I had a Taco salad and we played Pokemon during the meal. Saturday morning I made my AYSO coaching debut filling in [...] |
